HOW TO SEND US YOUR DOCUMENTS

THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES ARE CRITICAL


We accept documents by 1) "hard copy" to our NY office, or 2) electronically, uploaded to our Client Portal. We respectfully ask that you read our "BEST PRACTICES" carefully. 


BEST PRACTICES & GUIDELINES

  • PORTAL: Use our secure Portal instead of unsecure email. Your Portal includes a separate folder for each Tax Year.  Please upload to the appropriate folder. 


  • FILE TYPE: Please use PDF's and avoid Images files or photos. Images are often illegible, cropped, and difficult to manage. Many apps, including our Portal's Mobile app, permit you to create PDF files from your Mobile device's camera.


  • FILE NAME:  New for 2025, our Portal will automatically rename your documents upon upload.  You will have the option of using the suggested name or renaming to your preferred document name. 


  •  DONE UPLOADING INDICATOR:   We do not receive a notification - and will therefore not review any of your uploads until you check this indicator. You can upload documents on an ad hoc basis, effectively using the Portal to store and organize your documents. With each upload, you will have the option to check a "Done Uploading" indicator. Please do not check this indicator with each upload but be sure to check it when you are done uploading and want us to start the review process. Please do not check this indicator for individual uploads unless the uploaded document requires prompt attention. If you cannot locate the "Done Uploading" indicator or forgot to indicate it, simply send us a Portal Chat stating that you are done uploading a document(s) which requires our attention. 


  • Please do not arrange for third parties to email us your tax documents. There will always be exceptions, but we prefer not to receive tax documents directly from your financial brokerage firms and third party CPA's.  These documents are difficult to associate with the proper tax file, and always require us to overcome time consuming and burdensome security protocols. Please have the documents sent to you, downloaded, and then forwarded to us via our Portal.

SHIPPING or Dropoff

US Mail, UPS & FedEx

Please provide telephone number and email address so we can provide you with confirmation of receipt. If sending via US Mail, please use Priority Mail or Delivery Confirmation so your package can be tracked if not received.

OFFICE DROPOFF

When dropping off documents, please be prepared to leave a phone number and email address. For security, if after hours, documents cannot be left by a door or mailbox.
